Standard Hem Measurements – Part 3

Jeans are very difficult to hem on a standard home sewing machine.
The reason is that the seams overlap, and, at the factory, the hem is folded before sewing.  This can create a hem with 12 layers of denim at the seam allowances.
I eliminate four of these layers by serging (finishing the edge) the hem and folding the hem once, pressing it at 3/4 inches, and topstitching the hem at 5/8 inches.
